Darius hurt Jerome's pride.
His provocations triggered Jerome's paroxysm.
Jerome lost control and i believe he did not punch Darius's eye on purpose.
Darius was wearing specs, the specs broke, causing the lacerations.
Obviously everyone noes it's painful to punch someone and break the specs right.
So can you imagine how pissed Jerome was when he did the rash action?
So can you roughly imagine how irritating Darius was to irate Jerome that bad?

Come on, if Darius had not showed attitude to Jerome
Jerome won't even look at him twice.

Isn't it clear enough? 1/4 of the school are out planning on taking a revenge for Darius, while another 1/4 are out to claim fairness and the justice Jerome deserves.

You really need some serious attitude adjustments.
